Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic Business Update

In light of the recent pandemic, PK Motors ARC Ltd have come to the very difficult decision to close our doors from Friday 27th March 2020 until further notice.

This decision has not been made lightly but in the interest of our staff's wellbeing and to preserve our business during this very difficult time and to ensure we are able to continue serving the south east, when all this has calmed down, we have been left with no other option.

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience to our customers but we hope you understand our decision, in what is a very difficult time for everyone.
We wish that all our customers new and old, remain safe and well during this period and we look forward to coming out the other side with a stronger future ahead.

Helpful tips for a smooth handover

The full handover process can take upto 30 minutes. In order to save you time and to speed up the handover, please use this check list to ensure you are handover ready.

If you have any questions at all, please contact us.
  1. Is your vehicle clean both inside and out? At time of handover, we will need to complete a thorough check of your vehicle both inside and out, in order to note any pre-existing damage there maybe. If your vehicle is not clean enough to carry out a thorough check, we will ask that you sign a disclaimer for any damage which may be pre-existing when the car is cleaned off. Excessively dirty vehicles may incur a full valet charge, payable at time of completion.
  2. Does your vehicle have sufficient fuel? Please ensure that you have enough fuel in your vehicle to cover the mileage required to and from your house. It may also be necessary for us to carry out road tests on your vehicle following repairs. This can be anything up-to 20 miles and therefore we require that you have enough fuel to carry out such tests. If there is not enough fuel in your vehicle to deliver your vehicle back or complete a road test you may incur a charge for us to put sufficient fuel in.
  3. Have you left your locking wheel nut key in the vehicle? One of the most common things we come across is that customers tend to remove their locking wheel nut key. In some cases it is vital that we have this in order to remove your wheels to carry out repairs. If it is not within the vehicle and we are unable to obtain the locking wheel nut key within a suitable time frame to prevent delays, we may need to use a specialist tool to remove the locking wheels nuts. In this situation you will be liable for a charge and we will be unable to refit the locking wheel nuts without the key.
  4. Have you removed all your personal belongings? When your vehicle is due in for repairs, please ensure you have removed all belongings prior to handover, no matter how valuable they are. PK Motors Accident Repair Centre Ltd accept no responsibility for lose or damage to any belongings left within a vehicle during the course of repairs.
  5. Have you removed your child seats or bike carriers? It is advisable that you should remove your own child seats and bike racks. Whilst at PK Motors Accident Repair Centre Ltd, we are more than happy to remove them, our technicians are not responsible for putting them back on, due to health and safety issues. We would recommend that you get whom ever fitted them in the first instance to fix them back in place or to do it yourself if you are confident enough.
  6. Have you removed or switched off any recording devices within your vehicle? We advise that you remove or disconnect any recording devices within your vehicle. This is not because we have anything to hide, but in the nature of a workshop, our technicians like to have a bit of banter and fun whilst working and it may be possible that some offensive words may be heard if recorded. If your device is fixed in we will tape over this for our own peace of mind.
  7. Have you removed any parking permits/identification badges/or other vital documentation required for work purposes? Whilst we do not refuse access to your vehicle at any point, there will be a point in time were your vehicle is in accessible because it is in the oven being painted or could be at a main dealer for speciality resets. The last thing we want you to do is have left something urgent you require in the vehicle and not be able to get it, so please ensure there is nothing left within the vehicle you may need.
  8. Have you read the courtesy car terms & conditions and followed the link for security against our courtesy car?       By doing this prior to handover, this will reduce the handover process considerably. Please ensure you are fully understanding of the terms and conditions before proceeding with the security details and if you are unsure of anything at all please contact us first.
  9. Is your driving licence in date? Does it have the correct address? As part of the handover process we must ensure whom ever we are handing our courtesy car over to, that they can legally drive that vehicle. Please ensure that your driving licence is in date and has the correct address and name on. If you have lost your licence you can visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-online-to-replace-a-driving-licence, to get yourself a new one ordered. If you use the following link https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence you will also be able to get a unique reference from the DVLA, which will allow us to view your licence online to confirm who you are.
  10. Do you have any planned trips or holidays that we need to know about? At PK Motors Accident Repair Centre, we take the time and care that is required to complete a job fully. If you are intending on going away and need your vehicle back to go away, please contact us and discuss. Whilst we can offer requested completion dates, we simply cannot guarantee them and therefore may advise if there is doubt in the time we have to get repairs complete then we will book for a later date.
